Implementing a further development partnership to increase the delivery of new homes

In order to continue to deliver new housing developments at scale and pace and to reduce the strain on existing resources within the development team, approval is being sought to implement a further Housing Development Partnership.

The Cabinet report will set out the rational behind this approach and the areas in which a Partnership approach to development adds significant value, maximises the councils resources and enables new homes to be delivered more quickly, removing a significant amount of risk from the development process and will give certainty to the councils housing development programme.

The proposed development sites within a new partnership will be identified along with the likely costs of this programme and the numbers of new homes to be delivered.

A business case attached to the report will assess Partnership options open to the council along with identifying the preferred partnership option and procurement route.
