All Party Council Groups

Cardiff Council, at its meeting in March 2018, agreed a protocol for All Party Council Groups, which can be found here. There are currently 3 such groups, details are as follows:

Caring4K9's

Membership:

Councillor Dilwar Ali - Lead Member

Councillors Bowden, Molik, Mackie, McKerlich and Singh

Terms of Reference: To raise awareness and encourage responsible dog ownership in Cardiff (Wales), to reduce dog attacks on children’s/adult’s safety in public spaces/parks, dog fouling and to rescue any pets for animal welfare.
(The system of controlling dog fouling under public spaces protection orders was introduced by the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014)

Meeting Dates:

24 May 2018, 19 July 2018, 29 November 2018 and 31 January 2019

Urban Resilience

Membership:

Councillor Phil Bale – Lead Member

Councillors Ahmed, Boyle, Cunnah, De’Ath, Derbyshire, Henshaw, Lent, Simmons and Williams

Terms of Reference: Urban Resilience will focus on helping Cardiff to become more resilient to the many physical, social and economic challenges which impact upon cities across the world at a time of rapid urbanisation.

Meeting Dates 24 May 2018 and 19 July 2018

Women’s Group

Membership:

Councillor Jennifer Burke Davies

Terms of Reference: The purpose of this group is to provide a space for women in Cardiff Council to come together, mentor, network and build confidence in one another in addition. In addition, to collaborate on Green Papers of how best Cardiff Council can serve the women of the city with policy decisions.

This will be an opportunity for the women Elected Members of this Council to address concerns of diversity and representation within Local Government and strive to make our voices heard so that women in the future who consider running for local government can see that they are represented, will be supported and have a strong voice.
