The Fleet Replacement of Waste Collection Vehicles

An initial procurement exercise carried out in 2020 and several vehicles were purchased to replace a number of the aged waste collection vehicles originally procured in 2013.


The exercise verified market prices and confirmed the best value approach is to continue with purchasing of vehicles to replace the existing vehicle fleet with the interim hire of increased vehicle numbers required for four day working.


A two-year replacement program is required to deliver bespoke vehicle types aligned with the Councils waste and recycling collection methodology. The anticipated value of the program is £9.7m.
