Purpose:

The Welsh Government have made additional funding available to undertake low level disabled adaptations, as a condition of this funding no means test will take place and disabled clients will not need to contribute to the cost of the adaptation.  The value of the additional funding exceeds the cumulative value of client contributions that are collected. It is necessary to make amendments to our Policy under the Regulatory Reform Order to allow for this change before the end of the current financial year.

Decision:

RESOLVED: that

 

1.               Agrment be given ee to introduce an alternative discretionary adaptation grant (DAG) that will be an alternative to the mandatory grant system thereby removing the requirement for a means test in relation to the provision of disabled adaptations.

 

authority be delegated to the Director Adults, Housing and Communities, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Social Care, Health and Wellbeing, the section 151 Officer and Director of Governance and Legal Services, to update the Private Sector Housing Policy under the Regulatory Reform Order in line with this change and other administrative changes.
