AGREED: that the amendments to the Rent Smart Wales Enforcement Policy attached to the report be approved.

The Rent Smart Wales Enforcement Policy, approved by Cabinet in July 2017, specifically relates to powers which are set out in the Housing (Wales) Act 2014. Subsequent legislation namely, The Renting Homes (Fees etc.) (Wales) Act 2019 came into force on the 1^st of September 2019 names the Single Licensing Authority (Rent Smart Wales) as an enforcement body for the legislation. The Enforcement Policy now requires updating to reflect this additional power which is being implemented by Rent Smart Wales in partnership with Welsh Local Authorities. In addition, other amendments have been incorporated to reflect lessons learnt from operational experience.
