These two new build projects are included with the councils new build housing programme and will deliver older person flats to a care-ready standard as well as communal space.
The projected development costs for these projects are above £5million and therefore a Cabinet approval is required to enable us to tender for a contractor.
Projected build costs for St. Mellons is £10.3 million. This scheme will deliver 60 accessible flats and associated communal space.
Projected build costs for Maelfa is £10.1 million. This scheme will deliver 41 accessible flats and associated communal space.

1. the procurement process to appoint contactors for the Maelfa and St. Mellon’s new build older persons scheme be approved.
2. authority be delegated to the Corporate Director People & Communities (in consultation with the Corporate Director Resources) to undertake all aspects of the procurement process for both schemes including determining tender criteria, approving the tender packs, evaluating criteria and concluding the appointments.
