Age-Friendly Cities and Communities

By 2030 it is estimated that the number of people over 65 years living in Cardiff  will increase by 44%. There is a need to ensure that the City is equipped to meet the challenges that older citizens face and ensure that they can access the support and services necessary to thrive and remain healthy. Although there is some good practice within the City, implementation of a culture of continual improvement would ensure that Cardiff empowers older people to age well. The World Health Organisation(WHO) have developed the concept of an age-friendly City and community where services, local groups, businesses and citizens work together to make positive changes to support people to lead healthy and independent lives.
