Acquisition of The Former Lansdowne Hospital for the delivery of Affordable housing

The Council has embarked on large scale new build housing programmes working to deliver 1,000 new council homes by May 2022.

The University Health Board disposal of the Lansdowne Hospital site provides an opportunity to acquire a development site to support the delivery of affordable housing units in an area with high demand.

This Cabinet report sets out the due diligence considerations and justification to support the acquisition of the site and development of affordable housing.

The transaction will be undertaken in accordance with the Welsh Government Land Transfer Protocol.
