The council has an opportunity to purchase a former care home, Iorwerth Jones, from the Health Board for an agreed sum. As this is over £1m Cabinet approval is required.
A planning brief has been undertaken identifying development potential & planning constraints. Site investigation work has been undertaken as has due diligence. A viability assessment has been made which indicates that a council housing scheme on this site is viable.
There is a large demand for housing in this area and a range of family homes and a small number of flats for council rent is being proposed.
