Domiciliary Care Provision in Cardiff

The current contractual arrangements used by Cardiff Council to commission domiciliary care end on 3th November 2018. In January 2017, Social Services sought and received Cabinet approval to enter into new contractual arrangements from 4th November 2018. The new arrangements would use the same overarching approach as is in currently in place, with no significant changes to how care was commissioned or how the contractual arrangements would operate.

The purpose of this report is to seek agreement to suspend the proposals in the January 2018 Cabinet Report and take an alternative approach.

The report presented in September 2018 will set out the vision for domiciliary care in Cardiff, describe how this relates to other forms of community provision and support and how it will be delivered. The report will also set out how the current contractual arrangements will be dealt with, based on the legal' advice received and the need to ensure continuity of provision tor-service users and stability for care providers.
