This Council remains bitterly disappointed that waste problems continue throughout many wards on a regular basis. We are no further forward on finding a much promised and needed replacement site in Cardiff North for the much-missed Wedal Road and Waungron Road Household Recycling Centres.

This Council notes the principle that the Cabinet operates under collective responsibility, but feels that the Cabinet Member for Clean Streets, Recycling and Environment needs to be accountable for overseeing these regular and sustained failings.

Therefore, this Council has no confidence in the Cabinet.

Further, this Council calls upon the next Cabinet Member overseeing Waste Services to report back to full Council with a review and progress report in three months. They will need to update members on how the service has been turned around and is working effectively and efficiently for Cardiff residents.
