To interview the candidate and conclude the process for the appointment to the post of Director, Children’s Services

The Committee was convened to interview the shortlisted candidate put forward by the Committee on 14 January 2021 following consideration of the outcomes from the Assessment Centre.

As part of the interview process the candidate made a 10 minute presentation and Members were given the opportunity to probe and question the content of the presentation.  This was followed by a formal set of questions and two mandatory questions.

At the end of the interview process the Committee deliberated on the performance of the candidate against the competencies and model responses.

The Committee agreed that they were able to appoint to the post of Director Childrens Services.

RESOLVED – That

1.    Ms Deborah Driffield be appointed Director of Childrens Services at the salary associated with the post and the commencement date to be agreed with the candidate in accordance with the resignation period and completion of the appointment process by the Council; and

The selection process has been conducted in accordance with the appointments process and each candidate had been treated equally and fairly.  The successful candidate was appointment on merit.
