Disposal of a development site and remediation of former allotment land, Sachville Avenue, Cardiff.

Decision Maker: Director of Economic Development

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Decision:

Appendices 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the report are not for publication as they contain exempt information of the description in paragraph 14 of Part 4 and paragraph 21 of part 5 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

Agreed: that agreement be given to

1.       a transaction where a site (as marked in red on Appendix 1 to the report) will be transferred to Assura Aspire Limited (Cardiff & Vale University Health Board’s preferred developers) to accommodate the construction of a new health centre;

2.         a lease extension for the All Nations Church which will include the surrender of an area of their existing holdings which is required to provide an access to the new health centre; and it be noted that as part of the transaction with Assura Aspire Limited an area of former allotments (as marked in blue on Appendix 1 to the report) will be remediated and brought back into beneficial use.

Reasons for the decision:

To see contaminated former allotment land remediated and brought back into beneficial use whilst facilitating the development of a new health centre to replace existing facilities no longer fit for purpose.
