Decision:
The purpose of the proposed sum is to provide supplier relief due to Covid-19 as per recommendations in PPN02/20 to Parkwood. Further, it is proposed that there would be three separate payments of £35K per month (a total of £105k) for the period April to June 2020. There is a possibility that further requests for support from Parkwood may come forward depending on the extent of the closure period.
Agreed: that a payment of up to £105,000.00 to Parkwood be approved to provide supplier relief (due to Covid-19) in respect of the operation by Parkwood of Cardiff International Pool.
Reasons for the decision:
There is a risk that Parkwood Leisure will not recover from the income losses sustained during COVID 19 resulting in job losses, inability to maintain a Council Asset and closure of the International pool.
To enable the support of loss of income due to facility closure.
The ability to deliver the Councils contribution to the Health and Wellbeing of Future Generations Act.
