The table demonstrates that under the proposal the annual rental per perch would remain affordable for customers - consistent with the provisions of the 1950 Allotments Act. The average increase of 3.3% is based on the RPI for October 2018 (the most recent RPI figure available).
In terms of affordability, plot holders aged 60 and above and those in receipt of qualifying benefits and possession of a MAX Active Card will continue to be eligible for a 50% reduction in the rental fee. Furthermore, there is an option for plot holders to spread their payments quarterly. The option of paying 10 monthly Direct Debits is also provided for customers.
