Purpose:

Willis Construction have acquired the former Morrisons building in Pentwyn to provide a package deal development of 28 flats for Cardiff Council.  The mix is 28 flats comprising 9 x 1 bed and 19 x 2 bed.  They have been progressing the proposals through the pre-app process with both Planning and Drainage and have an in-principle approval to the scheme that they wish to submit for planning. 

 

The intention is that Willis will start on site in Summer 2021 for a 60 week build programme with completions in Summer 2022 as part of our delivery target.

 

Decision:

Appendices 1 and 2 of the report are not for publication as they contain exempt information of the description in paragraph 14 of part 4 and paragraph 21 of Part 5 of schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

 

 

RESOLVED: that

 

1.            Approval be given to the Council entering into an acquisition contract with Linc Housing Association for the freehold interest of the former Michaelston Pub site, Drope Road to enable the site to be included with the wider Michaelston College development scheme.

 

2.            Authority be delegated to the Corporate Director for People & Communities, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Housing & Communities to approve and enter into a Collaboration Agreement with Hafod Housing Association to jointly deliver 106 new affordable homes (38 council) at the former Lansdown Hospital site and adjoining HRA land in accordance with the terms set out in the body of this report.
