Local Authorities have a statutory duty under section 44 of the Welsh Language [Wales] Measure 2011 to comply with regulation ‘Welsh language standards’.

Cardiff Council is under a duty to comply with standards relating to producing and publishing an Annual Report.

This will be the third annual report produced under the Welsh language standards.

RESOLVED: that Council be recommended to:

(1)          Approve the Welsh Language Standards Annual Report 2018-19 (attached as Appendix A) and agree the report prior to publication in accordance with the Welsh Language Standards (Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011).

(2)          Approve the revised Bilingual Cardiff Strategy Action plan (attached as Appendix 1)
