A district council may fix or vary the rate of fare for the hire of a taxicab under the provisions of Section 65 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1976.
The City of Cardiff tariff of fares for Hackney Carriages was last set in September 2011.
As a result of an application made by Dragon taxis Cabinet considered and approved changes to the tariff of fares on the 2nd July 2015. Following a statutory consultation period, two objections were received and the report details the objections and request Cabinet determine whether the original decision on the changes to the tariff of fares should stand.
