The strategy’s aim is to determine the Council's role and key commitments in supporting a transition to zero carbon, low emission fuels for transportation. The strategy forms a component of the Council’s wider aims and responsibilities around both Air Quality management, Carbon Reduction.

Strategic Actions relate to:

·         our own practices with regard to fleet vehicle procurement;

·         measures to support the wider community in accessing vehicle recharging infrastructure;

·         our influence over public transport operators, taxi services and partner organisations; and

supporting innovation and actions to extend the direct supply of local renewable energy resources for transport use.
