Section 14 of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act 2014 requires that local authorities and Local Health Boards must jointly carry out an assessment of the needs for care and support, and the support needs of carers in the local authority’s area.

RESOLVED: that

1.            the content and findings of the population needs assessment noted.

2.            the population needs assessment be approved for consideration by Council.

There has been an extensive engagement process undertaken to inform the development of the Population Needs Assessment under the banner of ‘Let’s Talk’.  This has involved a number of different mechanisms including focus groups, online surveys, hard copy surveys available in community and health care settings and professional workshops.
