Purpose:

The Welsh Government is constructing Phase 1 of the Eastern Bay Link between Butetown Tunnels and Ocean Way Roundabout at a cost of £57m at no cost to Cardiff Council.  The Welsh Government has invited Council Officers to meet with the M4 Project Team to better understand the scope and potential impacts of the M4 project. 

 

The report seeks to delegate authority to the Director to engage with Welsh Government to progress a joint study of options for the next phases of the Eastern Bay Link.

Decision:

RESOLVED: that authority be delegated to the Director of City Operations to engage with the Welsh Government to progress a joint study of options for the next phases of the Eastern Bay Link Road between the Butetown Tunnels and A48 Eastern Avenue funded by the Welsh Government.
