Nuisance vehicles can create significant issues and frustrate law-abiding citizens. The provision of this service will also allow the opportunity to utilise devolved DVLA powers to tackle untaxed vehicles from public area.
Appendix B of this report is exempt from publication because it contains information of the kind described in paragraphs 14 and 21 of parts 4 and 5 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.
RESOLVED: that
1. the new policy for the clamping and removal of nuisance vehicles relating to illegally parked vehicles and untaxed vehicles (appendix 1) be approved
2. the Council accept devolved powers relating to use the Vehicle Excise Duty (Immobilisation, Removal and Disposal of Vehicles) Regulations 1997.
3. Authority be delegated to the Assistant Director Street Scene to sign the letter of agreement between DVLA and Cardiff Council (Devolved Powers Partner).
